Since 1999 I supported a high net worth, high profile individual who was the first President of a multibillion dollar internet company. I assisted him and his team in an executive administrative capacity in the company’s acquisition, community development and new business efforts through 2001. In 2001 I left the internet firm and joined this individual to assist him in establishing his family office. My primary responsibility was to act as this individual’s personal/lifestyle manager assisting with his personal property and lifestyle needs. In that capacity I served as a representative of his various business and philanthropic ventures with information technology, security, operations, facilities and human resources. In 2005 my role changed after years of building a larger team of individuals to manage the day to day operations of the personal properties and family office. I remained an advisor to that team but my new role was to concentrate on supporting the ever growing personal needs of this individual and his family. I decided at the end of 2007 that I wanted to strike out on my own and create a company that can make a positive impact for others. Prior to starting this venture I supported CEO's at various technology and real estate companies in addition to working at NASA for a local U.S. Government Contractor supporting the Department of Defense Security Division and was issued a Secret Clearance. Vanessa was raised in the Bay Area. She is currently a senior at the Academy of Art University (AAU), ­majoring in Advertising. Recently she won 2nd place in the AAU 2009 Spring Show for Best Commercial, and placed in the 2008 AAU Spring Show for Print Advertising. While attending college she has worked for several different firms including Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, Capricorn Management and Mancini International. While working at Ghirardelli she helped to develop the extensive training program that they still use today in addition to supervising employees, handling human resource responsibilities and reconciliation of all transactions. While at Capricorn Management she was the Assistant to the Executive Personal Assistant (EPA) of a high net worth (HNW), high profile individual at his family office that included a multi billion-dollar investment company and private property management firm. She was responsible with assisting the EPA with her various highly sensitive and confidential duties.  This included building the database that maintained all communications (email, telephone, and other correspondence) to the Principal.  This was instrumental in keeping all three of the Principal's firms, which included a film company based in Beverly Hills, a private and public foundation and investment firm apprised of any and all contacts, made to him.  She also was responsible for maintaining the files of all material including confidential financial and travel documents, and all other highly sensitive personal family business.  She screened phone calls, made appointments, personal purchases and other personal family matters including medical appointments etc. While at Mancini international her main responsibilities included supporting the security teams and the Founder in coordinating events and supervising security staff at various high profile events including celebrity weddings and the 2007 HBO Emmy's after party. She currently handles many of the administrative and personal assistant duties at My Executive Assistant, keeping the founder up to date on all projects, client issues and maintains the QuickBooks accounting system while using her craft to create all advertising materials.





Sarah Smernes Edson was born in Sacramento, California and raised in nearby Davis, California.  After graduating from Pepperdine University, Sarah worked as an Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of the International Department at eBay.  Even while performing her job as an Executive Assistant, Sarah was always available to assist in different capacities.  After showing an aptitude for online marketing, marketing communications and product management, Sarah was promoted to the position of UK Product Manager. In 2001, she was recruited by Jeff Skoll and Marlene McCaslin to join a two person staff at Capricorn Management.  Capricorn Management is a family office that manages properties, investments and the Principal’s lifestyle.  Capricorn Management also worked closely with other family entities of the Principal like the foundation and production companies.  Sarah gained experience in all facets of the business at Capricorn, which has given her the ability to work competently in many roles, such as, project manager, investments analyst, office manager, controller, human resources manager, executive assistant and personal assistant. Sarah’s co-workers have described her as being able to handle any task that is given to her in an efficient and confidential manner.  She is comfortable working with children, support staff and executives and is easy to get along with.  Sarah’s ability to fill any role makes her an important part of the My Executive Personal Assistant team.
